Does it have the registration number on it?
If so it'd be useless to someone else so it'd probably only be nicked by one of the many people who hate you.

You don't pay (generally, well not in the olden days, have Westminster council become chiselling bastards??)

Look up the local by-laws.

I'm not supposed to park in a bay here, even with a ticket. I think it's different in the next town though. Bloody councils having their own rules.

Going through my bikes and logbooks and I've got quite a few that I haven't got the red type book for. It's there any point chasing them and getting one issued? I've just got the blue computerised ones, document reference number still works to get prices for tax etc.

I've decided to travel dual carriageways at 60mpg.
38mpg appeals. The van is only 2k revs at 60. Is that enough to regen the dpf?

60mpg?

60mph is the speed limit for vans anyway isn't it?

Vans are supposed to travel at 10mph under the NSL except in 30MPH urban limits. However it depends upon legal definitions. Rear seats qualify the vehicle as "dual purpose" as does a crewcab or other adaptation for use other than strictly a commercial vehicle if the ULW is below 2040kg.

Another of our stupid laws.

The van laws date back to when? I'm guessing some time in the sixties?

Put the parking tag in a fork mount tax disc holder?

Commercial vehicles were at one time limited to 20mph in the case of "heavies" - this may have been to reduce the possibility of downhill runaways.

Probably the current retention of a differential in limits does indeed go back to the 50s/60s and may be revenue-linked. I know that putting windows in an A30 van and paying the due amount of tax rendered the vehicle (in the eyes of the law) suddenly capable of, and permitted to attain, the break-neck speeds that the car versions enjoyed.....
