How difficult a job is changing fork seals? Old yam divvy.

Easy enough if you can get the bolt out the bottom of the forks to split them. Crack it loose before you take the fork caps off is normally recommended. I can do conventional fork seals in about an hour if that comes undone ok.

A broom handle shaped to suit can also get rammed down from the top of the fork (once springs etc are out) to jam the cartridge to free that bolt off. I prefer the other way as a sharp crack on the bolt normally suffices.

If I'm not being thick can't you just put a screw into them and pull them out without stripping the fork leg down. Obviously doing it that way you don't get to clean all the nasty mess out

You could, but as you say you don't get all the shyte out. Plus I'd bet it's easy to damage the leg with the screw if you're not careful.

Being a thicko and not having done this before - easy enough for a 1st timer?
I'll probably end up googling/you tubing it

Dead easy. If you have an impact gun, blitz the bolt underneath and it will fly out.

You also need a way of driving the new seals into place, I used to use a split bit of 32mm drain pipe to drive the new ones in.

I use a blunt screwdriver and care, never damaged one yet. A bit of tube would be better though

This is a bit of a stretch but…
I was telling the family about the Billy Connolly sketch about the prescription windscreen and his grandma knitting him a balaclava with too small an eye hole.
I can’t find the whole thing. Best is this:

Can anyone find it on the interwebs?
I can’t remember the name of the show.

I know the sketch you mean, damned if I can think of the show either
