Stupid questions about motorised conveyances

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Well I've done all the pics etc as they are offering £15k on a car they paid £13k for two years ago. We'll see how it goes, got it done too late for the next stage which is to ring them so that should happen tomorrow.

They will knock you down a bit. They all do, just make sure they don't take the piss. Wbac knocked money off my van because they found filler in the back doors. Offered 12k online and it was 11ish when they saw it and offered to pay me there and then.
You've got nowt to lose imo.

The way they do it is auction it to their buyers with the price they offer as the reserve. It's a one day auction so you might get more for it, then within a week the buyer collects it and pays you bank transfer at that point. They'll be clearing the finance on it too, so I'll get my mum to get a settlement figure for that. That's for peace of mind so they can't rip her off over it.
The only damage is a few scratches on a mirror casing and they've rung her back tonight and knocked £50 off for the mirror. That's when I asked how it works, if it's as easy as they say then it's rude not to use them.

Update...

It sold for the reserve price, the trader has contacted my mum & should be collecting it this week. They pay when they turn up, so we'll see how it goes. But at just over £15k compared to the £11.5k we buy any car offered it seems good so far.

Anyone know anything about 2001 V70 onboard computers? Mine has recently taken to displaying random messages of doom the most recent being *no oil pressure, stop engine now"

What are trailers worth these days? I've had a look on eBay and prices are so varied it seems to be 'think of a number'.

My mum needs to get rid of one, it's 4'6" x 5'6" approx, galvanised and wood sides/floor. All seems in good nick but not been moved more than pushed around the garden for about 3 years. Nothing with a towbar about so can't test the lights, but they did work before.

A lot more than you think, try a Facebook marketplace ad for £400 and expect more than £300. Unless I'm in a local bubble

That was about my guess from seeing comments on here before, but as adverts seem to go £60 to £1600 I wasn't sure.
