Very similar (but shorter) list to what I have left to achieve on the Cowley. I paid a garage to do the brakes, recovered the parcel shelf and that was it.....

All fits into the housing like so.

Cut a new gasket and applied a bit of sealant. Bolted it all together, filled it up and tested. Opens up at 180, holds about 190 idling in the garage and the heater blows red hot. Good deal.

Also, today was a bit of a milestone:

I think I speak on behalf of us all when I say that is one of the least appropriate number plates I could imagine!

I did ask if they had anything else, but they just had a stack of nnn BOJ plates. The last run they had was nnn SAD so I don't know what would be worse.
I might get a different plate, but it's gotta get a standard one first (like that) and then it can be changed.

Oooh. That's pretty cool. I might go down this route- notorized affidavit of safe vehicle modification and a photo- there's a "Street Cruiser" special-plate for $36.50 /2yr.

(Though probably not, I think I may just get a personalized plate for it).

When did they drop "Sportsman's Paradise?" That always reminds me of Jerry Lee Lewis in the Alan Freed movie!

If you look carefully on the current plate you'll see it in red on the bottom left. It's still the tagline.

Custom plates don't have it because it lives in the space on a plain-white plate where that one is properly stamped STREET CRUISER; normally that space is occupied by a printed "SPORTSMAN'S PARADISE".

The SC plate is specifically for modified old cars like mine, that conform to the ethos of 50's and 60's customs.
You have to show proof the car's been inspected and modified safely.

If not, the custom plate STRAIT8 is available. As is ALLBLUE and PONCHAK...

If that was mine, and I wish it was, I'd feel like all the hard work was worthwhile.
