At least it has come through realativly unscathed. I will pick your brains a bit though if I may. '53 Buick Special Riviera with a fireball 8 any good ?

The roof dink did look a bit awkward in the photo. Maybe have a look at a few youtube videos too for inspiration? There are some ingenious methods people use, the dry ice one potentially sounds like one of them.

Is there any old fashioned panel beaters over in the states anymore? Or are they a rare thing now with plastic bumpers and fixed price insurance jobs.

Sad that it's happened but in some ways it does in part become part of its survivor story. Also thankfully there wasn't any storm surges or such flooding that got into it.

I've heard success with those glue stick things that you then pull with a sliding hammer.

I think maxxo used them and said they were good.

The metal is badly stretched so will need to be shrunk professionally. I will make a right dog's dinner of it so it can go to a panelbeater.

There's a lack of old-school shops yes. They're few and far between.

Yup, the Special was a good car- very much what you see in mine in terms of bodywork and basic mechanical design, but the Buick 8 is a much better engine than my old 30's design flat-head. Their gearboxes can be a bit difficult but parts are available. The Buick 8 has quite a long line of Bonneville records.

Will the headliner disintegrate on removal, or does it look saveable?

It should pull out intact, and go back in. It's actually fairly new, compared to the car.

At least that is helpful to the process.....So many have the structural integrity of a moth wing.
