If the weather is fine, I may give the car a wash. I found the paint that is a (similar ish) color match so it can get a couple spot repairs where the paint went through.

I found my DA sander too so that'll do just to whiz the rust off for now.

Nice evening, quite cool. Went out to get fuel because the tank was nearly empty. The heater even came on, set to medium. That's pretty wild, for here.

What a fantastic pic!

Have to say I’m a little envious that you can get your car out and about this early in the year!
We had snow again this week…

Driving home from the store, the car began to stutter and run hot. Fuel starvation- pulled the boost pump on thinking it was vapor lock. No such luck, was greeted with the stink of raw fuel.

Pump is damp but that's mostly oil.

Pull the pump on. Now there's your problem. Pissing fuel out between the body and sediment bowl.

Waiting for it to cool off to investigate.

Went out to look see what the deal was. Pulled the sediment bowl off, it was a little loose. The new cork gasket has shrunk slightly.

Taking a break from it because suddenly it hammered down with rain and got so windy the hood lifted up off the prop. I'm glad I caught it.

Pump off. Inspected, cleaned and reassembled. Bowl had just come loose, the new cork seal had shrunk slightly.

Back in place, boost pump on and engine running it's now dry. Much better.

Set the idle mix and timing. It'll idle silly low (150 RPM there) when it's set up right.
