The diesel 405 shit it's head gasket and engine half way up Sutton Bank. His mate behind him towed the fully laden 405 up the bank and all the way to Scarborough in his brand new corsa 1.2 sxi.
They certainly can fail and some of them in a spectacular fashion. The 306 boys pushed the XUD's hard and many put a leg out of bed, especially the ones chasing too much advance and running engines that sounded like a ball bearing in a bean tin.

Fair play to the willing little Corsa!

I started the car earlier, first time in nearly a month, touch and go but it went, not too.bad as the Bosch battery on it looks like it should be on a 1.6 or smaller.
Does silicone remover fuck paint? I dared to hit the sunroof switch, the motor works but movement is extremely limited, further investigation required.
Headlining is totally fucked and some severe sun fade on the keep fit winders but the velour door cards aren't in bad nick.
The main survivor appears to be the gear knob, they have a habit of turning to dust.

It always seems to stink like vinegar when applying it so maybe something to do with that?

The headlights are pretty 405 like and very efficient but I may well be interested in spare mirrors. Have they got the coloured caps?

Could be. I can't recall why I think it, but I probably read it somewhere.

Best get that logged down with Lyneham to prove your brain cell can log something so he can't refute the possibility in future?

I'll have to have a dig in the room of doom. From memory I think they were just black plastic
