More questions than answers (diagnostics)

Looking for a bit of help here, have bought the shiny new foxwell scanner.
Managed to read the maverick no problem but it won't auto detect the 2006 Lexus RX300.
Have gone through and selected manually and I'm getting 2 engine codes
PO0016 crankshaft camshaft sensor bank 1 correlation error
And one for idle air temperature.

I've done the test procedure for the IAT as described in the RX300 manual and it reads ok with a feasible resistance between the appropriate pins, but when I'm reading live data there is nothing. - this would point to a broken wire or bad connection somewhere wouldn't it?

I couldn't find any option to read the live data for the crank shaft and cam shaft data.to see if they are giving feasible readings I've got 100 items of live data but can't see either of those amongst them - however when I try to read engine speed I also get no reading which is strange as the rev counter is working just fine.

Background eml has been on since before a cam belt change about 15k ago, guy who changed it said belt was bad but not bad enough to have jumped a tooth and he is sure the new one is timed up correctly.
