DozeyDustman's Fleet update.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Amateurs. They should centre the steering wheel and lock it off before doing the tracking. Take the fucker back.

They centred the rack and the wheel naturally returns off centre - always has done.

My TT Mk2 did that. Garage even showed me them locking it into place on the third attempt. Never did figure why. One of the reasons why I got rid as it irritated me.

Very odd. I paid £50 to have it done on my last tranny and had to hint that they hadn't locked the wheel off. I haven't been back.

Knackered bush somewhere so although it tracks up right it moves out of line when driven?

Today I finally got round to fitting the new battery to the Mini. Its radio is an odd one. It used to cut out with regularity; after I took the unit out the dash and removed 3 terribly fitted aftermarket iPod/MP3 players the cutting out went.

All of a sudden this weekend the cutting out came back. It’s only when the engine is running this happens.

I’ve got an aftermarket fitting kit on order so I can fit the decent stereo we had in the Toyota before it went to the breakers but I have read somewhere the Harman Kardon amps fail.

It’s becoming clear we’re going to need a practical vehicle again soon. We’re looking to move out of that there Chichester to somewhere not far from here - Bognor, Rustington, outskirts of Pompey are looking likely so we’ll need to go back to a car each. Bearing in mind I open the depot at 4:30am public transport for me is not viable!

I’ve been looking at a couple of estate cars near me, they need some work but are fairly priced. Might place a bid on the Saab I’ve seen on eBay. I miss my old one.

Meanwhile I still am struggling to get the Lexia knockoff running to do the jobs on the C2.

Practical vehicle may be bought and collected Tuesday.

Just as I've spent £200 on tyres for the C2....
