I really don't know.
Jack it up on one side. Turn the raised wheel and count how many times the prop shaft turns. Divide by two to get the ratio.

Ben
Or just jack it up under the diff and count the prop revolutions to one wheel rotation.
Won't that be zero unless he has an LSD? It'll just fit with the other wheel going backwards?

Shunt it with a piece of wire across the terminals. It won't be accurate, but it won't overheat.

Phil
My new solution to the ammeter problem. Alternator is rated at 45amps, so this is still a bit close to the limit but should be okay. I did bid on a 60-0-60 earlier today but wasn't around for when the auction finished. Anyway this ended up finishing at half the price.

Just read this start to finish in one hit (wow! the boy can read!) and I am impressed. Do like an old Minor especially a warm one (engine wise).

Is it tho? I'm still wondering, why go to the trouble with the brakes otherwise?

A stock 1275 Midget engine should always be warmer than a stock 948 Moggie lump. Disc brakes would have been a cheap and easy conversion back in the 80s with plenty of Marinas around.

On pointless mods, why the Reliant mirrors, ammeter, driving+fogs and commercial bonnet? As Panhard65 said, the previous owner must have loved raiding scrapyards.

Not sure the additional gauges, lights and bigger engine were needed! I need to check out the goldseal 948cc that was supposed to it originally in it and get it running on the floor. But I was told the previous elderly owner shoved the 1275cc in for speed and did the same to his previous A35 van.

The midget gearbox with its short shifter does make it a bit uncomfortable to change gear and you do have to be more precise, despite the awkward angle.

Sold subject to payment. Collection will be next month.

Yes I've bought, fixed up and then sold another project without properly having fun driving it. 🙈🙉

"IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN BUY SOMETHING TO REPLACE IT"
Guess who said that

Apart from a Mini, I'm quite tempted to buy a scissor lift instead.
