BigRed do rebuild them. ESM however have new Marina calipers for just under 80 quid a side. Possibly may be cheaper option.

Re: Morris Minor Ratrod
Calipers were on the car when I got it so I haven't changed anything, just renewed the flexis a couple of years ago. I've never really looked at another disc set up closely! I have changed the master cylinder to a JLH one which does away with the flexi link to the remote reservoir as I didn't think that particular piece of flexi was a very good idea.SiC wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 9:58 pmJust noticed that you have a Flexi going to hard lines on both sides? My setup just has a Flexi going straight to the caliper.mercrocker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 5:34 pm Those calipers look like mine which are Marina ones.

Presumably my setup is wrong and likely put strain on the pipe?

Re: Morris Minor Ratrod
Just spunked a bunch of cash at ESM again and bought new. If they don't fit, I'll get these refurbed.
Bigg Red were £140 for refurb plus cost and time to ship them. ESM were £160 for a set of new shipped next day. Also ordered fresh pads+fitting kit for good measure.
Just added up what I've spent so far ... I need to sell the engines and diffs to make some money back soon.

Did you ever have a look to see if anyone had fitted some sort of hotter cam etc into this when they went to the trouble of fitting the upgraded brakes? I'm hoping this thing might be a bit of a hoot when you get it on the road. It should be a bit of fun in the wet at least.

Re: Morris Minor Ratrod
I like buying stuff but I hate spending money. The guilt from knowing helps keep my spending under control.
The checks and balances working in different parts of my brain.
Providing I'm not spending more than I can get back, my mind is happy and content. I'm still upset that I've lost money on the Bini and wondered if I would have been better putting a clutch on then selling.

Not yet. Not sure how to tell?Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 1:12 pm Did you ever have a look to see if anyone had fitted some sort of hotter cam etc into this when they went to the trouble of fitting the upgraded brakes? Removing the timing cover and seeing if anything is stamped into the end of the cam?
It ran a pretty smooth idle so I suspect maybe not. Basically as Panhard said, it's built up of stuff scavenged from a scrapyard and bolted in.

I did one of them on the MGB once. There was only one way of improving it and it spurred me on to finally start driving it!
