Had this for 14 years. Been in over the last couple of years with a specialist who's fitting it in amongst other jobs. New headlining, sunroof repaired, air con fixed, security removed (bloody pain), service, rear height sensor replaced, new battery, etc. Broken down twice in 14 years-both times dodgy door locks-if it doesn't sense the door is open-it immobilises the car. getting near the end now-here's a photo from a day or so ago he sent me.

My Disco is reliable. Bought 4 years old, 20k miles. Now 17 years old and 160k on the clock. Still in daily use.

Yep 14 years has failed to proceed twice. Once under the car port and once 10 miles from home-both due to the bloody door handle-turned out during the work on it that there was also a wiring issue between the door handle the boot release and interior lights. Fo4 a couple of years you couldn’t open the boot until the interior lights went out. Obviously there have been the odd niggle-a dodgy height sensor throwing up an error every few months or so-easily fixed but I just plugged in my eas reset dongle. Parts are very cheap- tyres and exhaust replaced. I count myself very lucky-it was bought off eBay unseen after a putting in a best offer-7500 I think-but it’s a good one.

I do like a good-news P38 tale, they should be very desirable things really. I know my mate's broke him more than his first divorce did and it was still fairly new then.

Contacted Iain the p38 specialist-back to gingercators. He can’t remember changing them-thinks they may have put them on to show another customer what they look like. Glad captain cal spotted it!
