Scooter for a 16 year old

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

From how I understand it,upon completion of a CBT with full car licence you can ride a 50 without L plates and carry pillions effectively giving full AM licence. If want to ride a 125 then need to update CBT every two years.

I don't know how it works fully but there's perhaps a way around?

I've never CBT'd a punter so he can ride a 50 in a car licence.
Maybe he had a 125 for 2 years then didn't bother and went to a 50. Would work in towns and cities where congestion is an issue and 25-30 mph is a distant dream.

No way my mates and I would've been dead on a restricted 50 back in 1986.

No way would we back in 2003. My zip 50 did a good 50+ when derestricted,Yamaha BWS 50 did around 45,Suzuki katana was on its arse at 55 and the derbi predator did an indicated 60 but it was a derbi so probably 45-50. My first 125 was a 1976 jawa 125. If I knew then what I know now id have kept that old tank.

Probably not, because they don't have a cat p. Given that you can't get cat p now (only those with granddad rights retain it), they'd have to get A1.

The C90 was the chosen steed for men into Dungeon's and Dragons who live with their mum and have a suspect internet browsing history.

Re old mopeds:

It's like derestricting or being over the power-to-weight clause shoves you up to the next category that covers it.

Also, cat p is a national category for home turf. Doesn't have automatic recognition in Euroland.
