Random near-connection between Pussycat and a Challenger.....

Kowalzcyk was the family name of those rather hot birds (my favourite was the blonde with the beguiling gap in front teeth)
Kowalski of course needs no introduction.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Had a bit of time while waiting on the kids in town, found a full new floor pan, frame supports, rear quarters.

Can't afford them all right now, but they're available.

First big task next is pull the dash off so I can get at the firewall. It's holed in both front corners (dirt trap) and that's why the floor pans are wet and rusted. I'll need to pull the front of the car off to get access- no huge deal, half the damn bolts are missing anyway.

From what my wife tells me of growing up in Bahrain at the time why didn't you just go to the souq or get food from a hole in the wall?

Good news, bad news.

Good news... I turned the engine over by hand and it isn't rusted up solid.

Bad news, they bashed the distributor against the firewall, knocked the lid crooked and that bent the plastic rotor inside. It also cracked the cap.

This one however made me want to pull the engine and further check their work.

Look at the stampings of the valve lifter rockers.

L, R. They are handed, one for each valve.

They're installed LLRRLRRL on the right bank and LLLRLRRR on the left.

I think that can come apart and I'm going to check the rest of their work...

FFs, was it the previous owner that built it or was it the 'professional' that scammed him?

Oh we did but having spent two years living in Kuwait les parents quite liked taking a trip up there to see old friends etc.

Bahrain and Kuwait were (maybe still are) quite a bit different to Saudi and the whole Dharan/Al-Khobar area was very americanish (Aramco)

Reminds me of my Bonnie where everything was tightened up till it strips, backed off half a turn & glued* with silicon or just left finger tight.
