Ooof, what's the story with the P4? I have been considering one as a cheap sensible old car that won't fall apart

I love those old 145 Volvo's my dad had a 1968 144S from when I was no more than a toddler right up until I finally killed it 16 years later. I had borrowed it due to my Land Rover being sick. at the time it had been retired as my dad bought a mk2 Cavalier.

The first number plate I learned, TUS 604G, was the family 145S same colour as Tim's. We had it for a good 10 years and was dad's first Volvo.
He's since had a 244DL, 850, V70 and currently has a XC70.

I've had a 240 estate, 480ES and an S60 2.4T but that 145 was the best of them. Built like a tank.

I bought it from MiniMad over on Autoshite as a stalled long term project, unfortunately there’s a lot more rot than anticipated, including a completely rotted out chassis so it’s getting broken. It’s introduced me to the world of P4s though and I can confirm they’re really pretty good! Very over engineered and pretty easy to work on. I’m saving the parts and keeping my eyes out for a more viable P4 project to transfer them all on to.

The 145 is almost ready for the road, it just needs the pipe work
To the fuel tank sorting out and some painting. I’ve missed the nice weather this year though so it’ll probably be next year! I’ve also got a 2cv that’s nearly on the road too but for some reason the photo won’t upload for that!

Censorship, we've got enough 2cvs here already (one).

Try cropping it a fraction, the uploader can be a bellend at times and that often makes it work.
