Do you? Aye?

Protesting too much there.

There are a 1001 motors that you can get three kids in, dogs can go in the back, cost fuck all to run and have comfy seats that aren't Audi's.

I’d sell the Dolomite as is. That’s the Spitfire money.
I got the impression that the owner of the red one was on the fence about selling it. If he is committed to then I'm still interested.

Forget it. I was discussing it with him yesterday and he ‘wants to get it going’. That will never happen. It needs a carb rebuild, brakes (probably everything), clutch hydraulics because the pedal is solid etc etc etc.

It’ll be there 10 years from now.

I simply refuse to go looking for a car to buy. I just wait until something drifts past my transom. The last car I actually set out to by was my VX220 in 2002. In the case of the TT it was offered for sale on AS and the lad took my crappy E39 off my hands.

I grew up wanting to be LJK Setright and instead I have turned into George Bishop.

That would free up 2 extra places

The Rover would also make a good station car with the addition of a suitable disclock.
Classics are on a policy that doesn't include commuting. Hagerty don't offer any commuting policies. I find them a decent company to deal with and find most other classic car insurance companies as complete scumbags.

Also I'm not sure I want to leave a classic unattended in a train station carpark. Despite being a low crime area, there is a good chance I'll get off the train to find it gone after someone has driven past and decided that would be a fun thing to nick.

I'd get rid of the flymo, oops I mean Boxster, as I find them utterly dull & uninspiring exactly like the TT. The advantage of the TT is you don't care about it so it's ideal for the station car park etc.

In your position I'd try to get some projects finished rather than buying others.

Actually came on here to message you about it. Shame as it sounded like a straightforward, fun project to get my teeth stuck into.

I can't comment about "wants to get it going" as I've been "wanting to sort" my Dolomite for a few years now with work in fits and starts. I'm slowly coming around to the idea that it's going. Not going to be an easy decision as I really wanted to drive it but I need to cut down on the number of projects and it's a pretty big one to finish off.

For what it's worth I think it's a shame you allowed the midget and then the rover to distract you away from cracking on with the Dolomite, there might have been a chance you would have got it done by now if you hadn't taken those two on as well. But that's just my 2d

Any chance you could get the midget outside under a cover to give you space to finish off the dolomite?

I could but I enjoy working on the Midget a lot more.
Which is the crux of the issue. I don't enjoy working on the Dolomite.

Looking at it right now, there is still a shed load to do from even what I can see. In this state I possibly won't get as much as that yellow one as people pay more for rust than half completed repairs. I'd hope to get at least 3k to 3.5k for it though.
