It does sound horrific especially as they knew there were still people on board

Indeed it does. I hadn't heard of it till seeing the link here either.

Remind me never to get on an electric bus.

To be honest, leaving them as diesel based transport seems to be the safest option, this isn't very carbon neutral.

Just WTF his wife could do miles away from the him. I wonder how far he travelled at 30 mph from tye time he discovered he could not slow down until he crashed at low speed (is 30 mph slow?) into a police van.

And is there a place name better than Kirkintilloch that sounds most Scottish when said with a Scots accent?

Sounds like that could be the second 40 year old in a week to have a medical episode while driving a bus? Do they have health checks at that age?

I see that we are now in the age of electric trains? Typical BBC with zero details on the actual vehicle itself or what battery technology it's using. I wonder how many more tonnes it weighs than a normal one, range, charge time, KW's/amps to charge it etc.

It might be more frequent, depending on country. Ireland for example is every five years for lorry and bus regardless of age.

Ahh I'd assumed it was an EU thing as a lot of licence requirements are.

Well it might be an EU minimum, but members states can have derogations or gold-plating of regulations.

E.g. Vehicle testing - minimum is 4-2-2 but UK gold-plates it to maintain 3-1-1
