Ever seen a?

Post by AMCrebel »

My Which mag says there is a Ford Focus electric and second hand ones start at 7K.
I've never seen one for sale.
Not sure how many C4 Cactuses were ever ordered with 4wd - no ads seem to mention it.
S Type Jag (the most recent model) could be had with 6 speed manual but they are rare - I did see one once. Most of the ones advertised as a manual are actually autos.

Never seen any of them but it may be a while before I'm bored enough to be squatting down in the street and peering under a Cactus. There's probably more of them than Freelander 1s with a propshaft going rearwards though.

Starting to doubt myself now - I was sure there was a 4 wheel drive option when the Cactus came out in 2014 - maybe not. There isn't a 4wd version of the current revised model.
Apparently there are only 25 electric Focuses registered in the UK.

I've never seen an electric Focus.

A colleague had one of the [now very rare] factory-built Mk1 LPG Focii. Slowest 1.8-litre car I've ever been in.

He sold it for a tidy profit despite rust slowly eating it.

A bloke who used to work for me had a Proton Impian that wasn't ex-Humberside Police or ex-Proton demo, someone actually bought one. Until then I'd never seen one in the metal. It went well for a porridge car but was unrefined and shit on fuel.

Name dropping trivia - I had dinner at David Leslie's house once with him and his family.
After driving the Vauxhall and Nissan BTCC cars, he had a go in the Proton Impian.
Sadly died in a plane crash.
Was a nice chap - had a go at me (nicely and correctly) for the lack of penetration in the welds on my low cost chassis.

I had an 02 1.4 pez berlingo for work that was bi fuel. It was new at the time and ran totally shit on gas so I just used it on petrol. It would miss fire and bog down. I had to use full throttle to pull away which got the odd look.

I don't know what they get wrong but I suspect a lot of conversions run badly or the stuff would be more popular.
On my MG you can floor the throttle at 15 mph in o/d top and it just pulls away smoothly, it's a fucking miracle. I just bolted the kit on and with minimal setting up it's just kept working for 10 years now. The 3 other cars I did previously never pissed about either. A man of your leanings should be able to stick your probe up the exhaust pipe and sort them out in a trice.

I've never seen an E-Focus, but the torque mount (lower engine mount in English) from one is a popular mod for Focus ST 225 and I fitted one to my C30 T5, it works well to stop wheel hop without any extra vibration.
