Electric vehicles, pros and cons. Have your say.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Northvolt files for bankruptcy in Sweden
Collapse of vehicle battery maker deals major blow to Europe’s bid to rival China

" It marks an ignominious end to a company that took in about $15bn from investors and governments in a technology crucial for electric vehicles where Europe is playing catch-up to Asian countries such as China, Japan and South Korea."

So adding up all the losses Ford, VW, Stellantis etc. have incurred in this Emperors New Clothes farce we're well into hundreds of billions plus all the time spent on the dead ends.

I've posted 2 or 3 articles about them here.

It's been like the TMT share price explosion of the early 2000s where if someone came up with an idea of being able to order bananas over the Internet it'd immediately get tens of millions of financing due to FOMO. A year or two later they'd be evicted from their posh London offices and the custom furniture would be in a skip.

They go on about European champions but there's too much bureaucracy, you need someone like Musk love him or hate him.

Rich tests some Chinese EVs in the US. They knock Tesla in to a cocked hat on range, equipment and more importantly, price. They are cheap.

Not sure how long some of those tyres last though.
