Aye Girling Powerstop. Common fault is the diaphragm sticking, usually a sharp thump frees it but it’s no way to carry on.

Re: Squire's voitures
It was Manchester I moved away from. I’ve had a promotion and only been here a few months so it’s going quite well thank you.

Re: Squire's voitures
If not that how about something slightly more modern in design? BMW used a remote servo, Girling if I recall.
Those have a fairly good rap, but they are moderately large in terms of diameter.

Re: Squire's voitures
Angrydicky and his colleagues are going to fix it for me with the latest parts.
Finally got the 1000 ready to be lowered down from the axle stands and on the road. A mate helped me bleed the brakes and I made the final adjustments. Axle filled with EP90 but the less said about that the better. And finally put the road wheels back on.
Continuing with the use of anything better than already fitted, I acquired these old stock wheel nuts. Packed 10 to a box.
Same went for the brake drum retaining screws although I had managed to find a good set of the original Philips head screws, but the replacements have a simple slot head and in my opinion are better.
Just got to hope this untested axle is OK and the oil seals I replaced do their job. If it’s a fine day tomorrow I’ll lower the car and get it out to road test.

Cross heads are fine until someone attacks them with the wrong implement. They don't bother me because I have the right implement.

Stop showing off about your new gadget. I have the correct size screwdriver for these so they will never be mullered by inexpert hands as they often are.Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 9:37 pm Cross heads are fine until someone attacks them with the wrong implement.
