Re: Squire's voitures
They're one of the things which do work well, being a manual plunger.

Re: Squire's voitures
Mine on the Cowley packed up today. Loose wire!
I won't have manual washers in my cars ever since the one on a Farina pissed all over some old postcards I had bought at a car boot sale....

Scrap the "rocker shaft". Not the engine, nor the vehicle.

Re: Squire's voitures
When you can buy a used electric screen washer pump and reservoir for about a fiver, there is no excuse for manual washers.

Re: Squire's voitures
Nah, I like them but only because they are original equipment. If it didn't have them fitted I'd have power all the way, either electric or vacuum operated. The one on the Moggy is actually very effective, it's a Wingard plunger which you repeatedly pump and it does a good job of flooding the screen. The one on the Snipe is a Tudor, but this gives a measured dose and is not one you can repeatedly pump. I would have thought that car would have power operated ones as these are barely adequate for the size of screen.
Anyway, I had another attack at the seized 948, using a cylindrical wooden block and sledgehammer to try and budge the pistons. Still no movement, annoyingly, so I applied some more Plus Gas and will try again tomorrow, probably applying heat too.
