Re: Vintage classic buses question
There's a helper spring assembly on the rear axle ..3 springs are missing but i can see how it should be . Is it automatic gearbox ? Is it a B 80 ? it has some plug leads missing but it has 8 plugs . The fan actually rotates , as do the pulleys ! Needs belts . Some detached parts need refitting , has broken front axle beam , have a new one made from plasticard that dad made .. need a front hub making . A few rivets have popped apart ..
So is it an Avenger mk2 ?

Certainly a beautiful model.....Does look like a B80, I don't think it is Commer Avenger as nothing I've read mentions that application. Over to t'internet....

Just one problem.. the model has door/steps on the nearside, in front of the front wheel..

All adds up OK, doesn't it? Awesome engine for a coach, though!

I was chatting to a friend's dad who was a fireman and apparently RR powered petrol fire engines did 3 mpg.
