Knowing Chrysler, that's going to take the same switch they first designed in 1955...

Edit: Nearly. Late sixties through eighties.
They're available but damn, they're expensive. I'm guessing they are a common fail point.
Could probably do with a relay, likely it burns the switch out with the big arms and blades on the van.

It does appear they used the same switch from the year dot and looking at the one Dodge Rover linked
I think its the same as the one i linked in this country :)

The Au one is $140 OZ delivered the UK one about £35 landed so might take a chance

If a Mopar specialists are listing it as an alternative it must work?

I think power in switch to L or H speed is quite straightforward the washer pump pin for 12v out also its the park wiring that's making me nervous as last time on Shitey with a similar switch it kept drawing too much and frying fuses

If they are the same switch it appears to be an Exalto 2134 and this is the diagram

Image

Business side of DR linked switch

Image

Same as switch I linked?

Image

They do look to be the same

Other than me paying Ouch prices I think its the only way.

If i used relays I am guessing id need one for each speed? cant see another way of doing it other than it going back through the switch

I'm crap at electrics

Got a little unexpected present today from Sam.
She had asked what I wanted for my birthday in a couple of weeks? I said I can’t stand wasted gifts so get my something useful. My multimeter has seen better days it’s nicknamed Colin as my best mate who passed away three years ago who gave it to me.

Image

I said to Sam get me an accessory lead pack as the leads are knackered. She said she had ordered some the bugger only bought me a new meter and not just any meter she bought me the real deal!
Thanks Sam I can blow myself up in style now 🤣

Image

Timing couldn't be better as practically everything electrical on the Boogie van is either not working or is possessed

So today I have been mainly trying to remove my steering wheel in the Van to discover why the indicators don’t work? To be fair it needs a new indicator switch but I think that’s just part of the issue? Bought a general purpose generic puller and non of the bloody slots lined up! So if at first you don’t succeed Dremel! 🤪
So first I used a grinding stone then discovered in the rubbish assortment of bits they give you with it there’s a Tungsten Carbide die grinder bit.
Was it a nice size barrel type? No it was tiny the size of a ballpoint pen tip 🤬
So hours and hours of tickling little tiny slivers of forged steel away eventually both Anchor bolts would go in!
You can see from the pics it was getting Dangerously close to the centre puller bolt but hey I did it without having to buy yet another tool to modify the tool 🤣

Image

Image

But it is collared the other side so still had strength in it!

Image

Image

Anyway I got it on wound it up then there's the satisfying POP! And the Boogie WonderVan is now oh so ver 21st Century it now has an Immobiliser

Image

You can see that the centring point didn’t quite make the centre but hey close enough 😉

Image

And the cam on the indicator is a brittle as a crisp the wiring coming out the bottom of the column looks well fudged so best to just replace the switch!

Image

Nobody lists as switch for a 75 Tradesman only up to 74

But from what I can see the 74 part is the same even the wiring and colours you just switch the PRNDL backlight bulb holder over and your good to go ;)

Image

So yeah fun day tomorrow will actually get off my butt and unscrew the the switch don’t want to have all the fun in just one day😜

Grrr! Still, far better to wrestle with that wheel now rather than when it's on the road and the indicator switch has failed.....

My mates going to do a bit on it the stuff I cant do ill just drop it off and post the keys but though he has the pullers etc Ive got to do this myself as knowing my luck id get a pull for having no indicators

The grounds were buggered on the fronts so have to redo those and I suspect buggered flasher relays too everything needs going through.

Will be sending off my first big order for bits this weekend just replaying everything that's a serviceable item brakes cables hoses yadda yadda

California: If it passes emissions test nothing else needs to be tested for function.
