The heating is actually OK I think - I was panicking a bit.

Top gadgets are -
The button on the dash that folds the rear headrests down.
The electric motors that move the cargo blind up and out of the way when you open the tailgate!

I had a headrest button on my W124, annoyed me it didn't put them back up too. Have they made them work both ways now?

Have you tried sbc hold and stop?

Simply push the brake firmly after you have come to a standstill and the car will hold and you don't need to touch the pedals until you set off using the accelerator, sbc stop is a bit different, you set it on the cruise stalk and it will bring the car to a halt for you, proper one pedal driving, although I'm not brave enough to use it much.

Has it got command with the hidden cd player or is it simply a hidden odds and sod's tray?

I really like my E211 Estate.
