Re: Cars you forgot you owned.
Not my car but last night while in the pub my old man was going on about cars he'd owned. He then mentioned a Honda soft top he'd had in the seventies that was smaller than his Elan 2+2. You fucking what M9
Quickly found a photo on my phone, yep, just like that in red. I was too young to remember it. He remembers it revving like a bike after I nudged a few more brain cells.

They do look like good fun. I can never figure out why he liked such small cars as he's 6' 2" and not exactly a small frame. Pretty rare to see one even back then I bet?The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 3:53 pm I remember a coupe version rotting in a field in Bucklebury 40 years ago.

A couple of years ago I was behind a tidy P reg Escort Ghia saloon and I was trying to remember who it was that I knew that used to own one. Then I suddenly remembered that it was me.

Re: Cars you forgot you owned.
Due to the nature of my job I honestly couldn't put a figure on the number of Mk1/2/4 (never had a Mk3) Mondeos I've had. The same applies to Fiestas as well as I used to regularly buy them from auctions to punt on.
There's probably a dozen cars that I've owned but never driven. I bought them over the phone and punted them on before collection. Of those maybe half a dozen I never even laid eyes on.

Re: Cars you forgot you owned.
I had a Honda S800 (same as the above in shape apart from being a coop) and I fuckin' loved it! Lent it to my stepdad one day and he pulled out in front of an artic and removed the front! Still, he gave me the money to buy my Toyota Crown so not all bad NAF 5F RIP.
I'm sure I once owned an Opel Senator GS'E or something but it was so short-lived, I may be dreaming!
I did once own a Jag XJ6 4.2 Manual with o/d but I took it to the painter I used for him to sort out the front wings and he begged so much, I sold it to him. The complete time owned was about 90 minutes!
I also owned a 70s Merc 'S' class and the same painter sold all the fucking trim from it and did a moonlight so I never even drove that bugger.
I once owned a RR Silver Shadow 2 for a whole day, made a grand and was glad to see the back of the piece of shit.
Had loads of 'pudding' type cars that I honestly can't remember, one in particular sticks in my mind (not the actual car...) I'd parked in a car park in Plymouth and then found I honestly could not recall what the fuck I'd gone in and only had the key to go by so it was a Ford or a Vauxhall and so a weary hour or so was spent wandering around until I found a car that looked vaguely familiar...
