re service-unfriendly: My GTA follows suit so by 1986 they hadn't changed anything they were doing.
You must have, by now, done more service work to this car than had hitherto occurred during all previous ownership tenures.

Well, it was the big 90k km service that was due. What I didn't do is the repack wheel bearings nonsense scheduled for this service, too.
However, yesterday and today I rigged up an ELECTRIC screenwash system!
So we will be able to see whomever we roll over!

A rubber squishy squishy on the floor connected to a half litre bottle and washer nozzles hovering in mid air since the Blue Tack failed a week after being applied.

Blu-Tak doesn't really work for exterior applications.

But it does work for one single use of the screen washer, which made it an asset in the bad old days when this car needed an MOT.
