Remember when the police were there to catch criminals?
As I suspected I was right about everything.

Their side have accepted full responsibility. just a waiting game now for insurance to pull their socks up. Berlingo has a couple hundred miles under its belt nearly and is going fine. Swapped door speakers for an old pair of pioneers I had in shed because foam was split on the originals and the buzzing was annoying me!

I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Good luck with it Bub. I liked the Peugeot Partner car/van I had for a few years. It was a 1.6 petrol and other than a coil pack it cost me nothing apart from routine servicing.

I had a berlingo with the 1.6 16v in it too a couple of years ago. Damn nippy with that engine in if not the best for economy. I averaged low 30s locally.

I had a brand new '02 berlingo belonging to the last company I worked for before working for myself. It was a 1.4 pez that had been converted to run on lpg.
It never ran right on gas from the day I got the keys. It misfired terribly at low revs and I had to drag start with full revs and slipping the clutch from junctions and rake the tits off it everywhere I went. It would bog down at anything under about 3.5k revs.
I also suffered massively from a bad back at the time. Having to exit the van on my hands and knees no and then before straightening up. After about six months of agony I traced it to a slightly bent seat frame. Me and a mate used our arms and legs ans twisted it straight. My back healed almost overnight. Bastard thing although I've never known a van take as much punishment as that poor thing did in the year or so I had it.

When I left the firm I bought an L reg cavalier with full mot off a mate for £180. That was my first self employed vehicle. 26/01/03. I binned the rear seats and got more gear in it than I managed with the berlingo.

The seats are a fuck load more comfortable than the escort. The higher seating and larger doors means its also easier for a cripple like me to get in and out too. Sounded like it wasnt set up properly on gas paul,I cant imagine the 1.4 being a ball of fire at the best of time especially if loaded. My 1.6 needed revving or else lost all momentum

It might have been a 1.6. Wasn't 16v though.

They did the 1.4 petrol in the early ones. If I remember right it was either a 1.4 75bhp or 1.8 90bhp and a xud diesel. Then went to 1.4 and 1.6 petrol or dw8 or hdi power
