Re: Fords finest. Don't come a knocking
My car lies.
This is what the trip computer states. I've just brimmed it and it used 50 quid and a few pence. Worked out manually and its coming out at 30.49 mpg-

Beats the citroen xsara picasso diesel that regularly read 44 when it was doing 39 or the c4 picasso 1.8 petrol that read 33 and was doing 28.

Re: Fords finest. Don't come a knocking
Car has been exploring this afternoon. Decided to go for a drive out. 4 and a half hours,160 miles and a massive bronze cock later we are back. Went to snowdonia through Betws y coed,up the Llanberis pass at the recommendation of our tame macaque lover to RAF Village but nothing interesting there then back to the van. Surprisingly fuel economy now reading over 31mpg. Absolutely knackered from driving but we are back on the road in the morning at sometime or another heading back to the civilisation in deepest darkest Derbyshire.

Nothing on that site available and I wasn't going to pack up and unpack again elsewhere for sake of an extra night. Was only 120 mile home.

Re: Fords finest. Don't come a knocking
Just took a friend to stone to fetch a scooter in trailer. Really pleased with mpg overall again.
We are going to Kent in a static so it shows steady runs without caravan can be quite frugal.-

Re: Fords finest. Don't come a knocking
After new shocks the back end stopped being as bouncy but was still low even with not much weight in. Found 4 coils were in contact on the springs so ordered new springs. Easy enough job.....
Now on an older car with low miles and bolts being exposed to the elements, all parts are still original and start to wear out but bolts end up seized in the bushes and that causes issues. I was planning on coating rear axle with underseal in the summer but that ended up being done sooner than planned.
Couldn't remove bolts from bushes and arms had corrosion anyway so assumed ford would be only place to get them. Bolts, lower arms and camber bolts were nearly a grand but luckily found a motor factors who could get the bolts and arms for 110. Rear axle was cleaned and stoneware sprayed on,neaw arms, bolts, camber bolts and springs fitted. Going to take it for 4 wheel alignment in the morning.
