I am far from a beard on BMWs as I have an irrational hatred of them - but wasn't that the 330d?
I'm not sure. The questions I stated were what I'd be asking if I were to spunk a large amount on a car. Saying that,if I ever had a substantial amount to spend on a car it wouldn't be a modern but that's beside the point!

They are superb cars, especially the automatic. Apart from EGR recalls etc there is very little that goes wrong and as you know, they’re lovely to drive.

GIB if you want it.

If you're getting a replacement company car why do you want to buy it?
It might be a bargain but 15k is a fair old sum.

Owning this past warranty will feel utterly different to leasing it new.

My parents 2017 manual 520d 180bhp seems to have been pretty fault free in the 50k they've done in it. Had a clutch master fail and iirc something around the EGR failed out of warranty not part of the recall. Surprised me it not having Adblue even though it's Euro 6b.

Don't get a lot for your money though in terms of features. Our Civic has more stuff on it than the BMW - reversing cameras/auto folding mirrors/etc.

Thanks all for your input.

I am considering buying it mainly to reduce my CCT liability - I fucking hate K codes - My new car will not be delivered till June at the earliest and this thing is now 12 months past lease end date..

I reckon I can get it for sub 13K based on current auction prices - but it doesn't matter as I still have a few months to think about taking on a potential ticking bomb. As RBJ says they are a superb an car and having driven it from new (4 miles on the clock when delivered) I do feel it will make an excellent replacement for the V70. We shall see......

A BMW warranty will be cheap enough.

Change the oil every 9000 and she’ll be fine.
