Re: WReX Wagon
The wagon is almost up to 10k miles now, (150k in total) in my slightly, ham fisted ownership.
I need to start looking for summer tires soon. Also as most days I’m doing 100 miles and often 150+, I might have to keep my eye out for a replacement, should the inevitable happen.
Thought I had found a good lead on an older Volvo with mega low miles, but it turned out to need a repaint having either been too close to a fire, or the victim of an acid or stripper attack. Might still be worth it and get a cheap paint job on it... 2008 with 48k miles for $5k.

Re: WReX Wagon
New shoes (and minor nose job).
The Wrex came with two spare sets of alloys.
I sold one set and have just had some part worns put on the others. Out with the winter tires... And on with the new! Painted the hood scoop as well this weekend. Only had black so after a couple of coats of filler primer and some rapid hand action, the hood now has a non peeling scoop! The new tires are 70% tread Michelin all seasons - 17” 225s.
Summer would have been nicer, but $325 fitted can’t be argued with.
Next up a wash this weekend and maybe see if I can fix the AC...

Re: WReX Wagon
You can buy Aircon gas in shops, I'm not sure which gas it is though. Of course with a totally empty system you need to add oil too...

Re: WReX Wagon
This stuff has all sorts in it (not bassets) with oil, sealant and other great stuff which made me glad I was wearing gloves as it leaked out of a connection!

Re: WReX Wagon
I have a can in the garage - it worked on the Puma, not so much (at all) on the Lean we had.
My local garage does a good job on aircon though so I take them there when needed.
Disco 3 hasn't even needed a top up in the last 5+ years.

Re: WReX Wagon
It seems to have worked for now.
I think it’s one of those things that if you don’t keep topping up a slightly leaky system it just gets worse. The seals just get drier and drier.
Hopefully the half a can that I used should last it through the summer and still be usable for another top up next year (or use it in my project car).

Re: WReX Wagon
Well the chilly stuff seems to have stayed in the system for now.
Ordered a ‘muffler bung’ from Amazon. Years ago, my mother would have taken away my internet access for a search like that!
Here it’s a restrictor that goes in your exhaust, to make those 6:00am drive aways slightly more easy for the neighbors.
If this doesn’t bring the noise down a little, I have a bid in on a stock WRX exhaust system that I might raise the ante on a little.
