Money seems to have cleared, so that’s another small part of my car history turned over!

I much prefer the Catherham to the yellow thing, you've made the right choice.

Thank you. And as I parked the WReX in the garage this evening, I certainly didn’t look at the Caterham and think ‘woof!’ Um…

Bought myself a flat cap a couple of weeks ago. Mrs hates it and the boy has taken to wearing it backwards… which I pointed out isn’t really the ‘thing’.

Seems to have gone missing…

So to up my Britishness, I though a Defender would be a fun but usable winter car.
What’s happened to the price of them. $40k for a half decent ‘90s model. There was a time an imported one would sell for $15 - $20k and I thought that was scandalous!

Oh well, maybe a Mitsubishi Monetro (Shogun) then or Toymota 4Runner if I can find one with less miles than the Starship Enterprise.

Bugger, the price of used cars is bloody insane. Just saw a LandCruiser from 2004, 220k miles and a mere $18k. 2001, 170k miles for $20k.

A rusted 2000 for $8k. There’s another 2001 for $6,800 with a mere 197k that might be worth a look…

With no annual test I would be inclined to sort the scooby mechanically and just run it into the ground, you shouldn't be jacking under the cills anyway, always put the Jack under a chassis member or use a long length of wood to spread the load.

Who needs welding in the US, the structural pop rivet seems to be the go to for repairs.
