It's looking good, hell of a lot more shiny than I ever kept it.

Did you manage to get the airbag connector thingy sorted yet?

It's on my to do list but I'll probably leave it till nearer the MOT in May. It should be an easy fix.

The back of each sill on my 75 has always been bubbly but has never warranted and advisory, even at its MOT last week.

However I had bought a couple of repair panels a few years ago and I felt that now was the time to get it sorted out before it got any worse. Its still a good car.

I could probably have had a go myself but it would have taken me weeks and in what is a fairly visible area, I wanted a good finish, not some wobbly amateurish pigeon shit. Plus right now I just don't have the time.

So I dropped it off at 10am yesterday with a chap that has done some great work on my friend's cars. He is also going g to paint the front bumper as it's terrible.

There are more pictures of the inner sill before paint but apart from a few pinholes they weren't too bad. One was full of water and muck though so the cause of that will be investigated.

I got the 75 back tonight and its looking brilliant.

He also tidied up the front bumper as the lacquer was burnt from TFR in a past life and also polished the headlights.

Its a bit dusty because it needed to stay dry as it was only painted this morning so I'm looking forward to washing it tomorrow and seeing the full effect.

Davie also said that it's one of the cleanest cars of its age that he's ever seen underneath and that provided I keep on top of maintenance it should last another 20 years.

He also tidied up the front bumper as the lacquer had been burned by TFR at some point before I bought the car.

Good to know it's still a car worth spending on.

The Saab is still going well too.

It looks like someone has tried to snap off the aerial at some point and its split and bent (picture is the right way up on my phone 🤷‍♂️)

I ordered a new one but unfortunately it's completely the wrong fitment.

I also ordered some touch up paint for the scrapes in the side skirt but it's a few shades too light.

That nipple should unscrew from the old aerial. Gan canny with a pair of pliers.
He's made a cracking job of those sills. How much did it cost?
If you're owt like me, you'll get the rover mint and spotless then flog it on or swap it.

That aerial should have some threaded inserts of different sizes included with it.

Nothing was provided with the aerial unfortunately. It was badly seized in so I reckon I'd muller that threaded part if I tried to remove it. The base on the car and new aerial have different sized holes so my idea of cutting a bolt down won't work. Nothing to lose though, I can get another one for £15 from Neo Bros if all else fails.

The work done on the 75 was £240 although I bought the repair panels in 2020 which were £115 and no doubt saved some time in fabrication.

I won't be selling it although I'm having a think about the Audi. I have the Saab as a competent convertible now and the Mrs and my son both like it so the choice could be theirs. I'd really like another Cavvy and there's recently been a few affordable examples for sale.
