I have had this just over a month now.

Initially I really missed the outgoing Cavalier but I've got over it now and have warmed to the Saab about 200% since I got it. Especially now that the thermostat has been replaced, I have heaters and because the engine gets up to the correct temperature, I can give it a boot full every now and then. It really does drive lovely, very responsive, handles well and it smooth and quiet.

It's got a very weird spec but it's got nice items such as cruise, rain sensing wipers and powerfold mirrors. The leather seats could do with being heated and electrically adjustable but they are very comfortable.

I'm definitely going to keep it for longer than I initially thought. The fuel consumption has improved from 19mpg to 23 now that I'm using it more and the engine is running at the right temperature.

I polished up a few pogweaseled areas of paint and I'll do it properly in the spring.
Oil change carried out.

A few wee jobs still to do:

Rear pads getting low although nothing affected at the moment.
Definitely a front wheel bearing on the piss but it's not particularly loud at the moment
Needs 2 front top mounts, springs ping as I'm turning but once on the move it's fine.
Parking sensors not working
Radio aerial is bent and tatty
Only one powerfold mirror working

Overall a great value car that I'm glad I bought.

You'd have thought Saab (well GM) would have integrated the antenna in the Sharkfin.

Thinking about it, is that Sharkfin even got anything in it?

As far as I know it's completely empty!

Iirc they were empty, had a phone connection or phone+GPS, depending on what audio grade was installed.

Mine has an aftermarket Parrot kit installed although I have no idea what audio system it is, all I know is that the radio works on the stations I like.

The Parrot kit has been installed very neatly though and it works perfectly with my Samsung A21. I hadn't spoken to anyone on the phone for years but last week I was picking my wife up from a dental operation and called her on it to say I was stuck in traffic. The kit looks old though, I remember a pal had the same one installed in his new Merc ML way back in 2006 because he needed to be able to talk to his lorry drivers.

Base has no screen. One up has a green screen. Top has a colour screen with NAV.

A parrot ck3100? Still decent and popular pieces of kit, even if there is stuff that can do more now like play music. Got one spare in the garage that I've been meaning to fit in the Boxster for the last 3 years.

They're dead easy to fit. Just plug and play.

It's back on its 06 plate as the 'SAAB' one belonged to SRi05 and he subsequently bought a silver one.
