Re: Fleet Occurrences
I find that nose in the air and massaging the pipes usually works for me in getting a cooling system bled pretty efficiently. Also filling slowly and letting it finish glugging down before continuing.
Only car I had major problems bleeding was the E28 I had. That turned out to have a major blockage at the back of the block from crud. Once that was cleared out, it was fine.
I'm tempted to get a vacuum purge kit for the next time I need to change coolant. Boxster thermostat needs changing and being mid engine leads it having a massive cooling system with long pipes. Iirc 20 litres for refill. That can be a right bitch of a system to burp.

Re: Fleet Occurrences
I think I probably filled it a bit fast. The capacity is only 2 litres though.

Re: Fleet Occurrences
I don't think that's right? Sounds about half what I'd expect it to have for a full system charge.

Not sure where I read that but come to think of it I filled it with around 4 litres. Still not a lot.

Re: Fleet Occurrences
There isn't much to report with my fleet at the moment as they've all been behaving!
The Cavalier failed its MOT on a blowing exhaust but the garage managed to fix it and it got a pass which was great. It's now on SORN in my garage for the winter but in the spring I can just tax it and use it again.
I fixed the oil leak on the red 93. The vacuum pump seals were shot so I replaced both the internal and external ones and it's nice and dry now.
The brown 93 had a wet drivers footwell which was weird as it's the passenger side that normally gets wet as that's where the pollen filter sits. The scuttle drain under the wiper mechanism was blocked and I also sealed up the rubber grommet where the wiring for it passes through as it looked old. Now all nice and dry.
The 75 just completed a 400 mile round trip around Kielder. It was a great goliday and the car went well.
Here it is outside out tree house (yeah!) in the middle of nowhere: A busy week for 75s is coming up as mine is due an oil change and I'm booked to do a peen of work on someone else's as well.

Re: Fleet Occurrences
When I went to collect it from the garage it was parked next to my old Civic! It belongs to Subpar and he uses the same garage as me. It had just passed its MOT.
I took the Saab out tonight to enjoy the new quietness and tested out the gearbox to make sure it still worked as before. It does and I didn't know it had a 2 stage kickdown. I did shit myself a bit at this as I was only trying to shake off a Corsa VXR which was on my tail going onto the motorway. The Saab pissed all over it which was great.

Re: Fleet Occurrences
Speaking of bellenderous accessories, I got a Noob tune sticker for the back as I didn't get one when the ECU was sent back after remapping.
Whenever an A class or Q3 is tailgating me I cannot resist handing it to them. They really annoy me. I am hoping this will say that I *could* go faster than you but I choose not to.
I also had another 93 1.8t on my bumper last week, looked like a scruffy tradesman car. The Stage 1 is shockingly quicker than standard. At least until my wife started shouting at me.
