I had a Civic last week that had a new battery fitted but it wouldn't stay charged for long. As it was new you start by looking for a drain. Over 3 days it would hardly show up anything as a drain and started straight up after being left disconnected. Fucking thing wouldn't last half an hour connected. My electrician bloke who checked it over reckoned it must have a high resistance on the cells. New battery and it has been perfect ever since. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is any fucking good anymore.

It's 6v and I don't have another to run parallel.
I'll just have to bite the bullet.

Same output apparently.
Will I be okay to solder wires onto it?

You should really put heatshrink on the back end of those crimps. Especially if out in the elements.

But for the nice weather you're using it in and short period of ownership, it shouldn't matter.
