Good job, much easier to work on with it removed. Kind of been there, done that in the distant past, you get a lot of satisfaction when it all goes back together and it actually works.

Time to split the trans and old engine - I started taking off the whole cover plate then noticed there's a small plate you can remove to get at the torque converter bolts -

Finally got a few minutes to try and take the rest of these bolts out and they are done - except the last one (of six). I am giving it some time to have a think about what it's done. Access is quite difficult so I can only get a ring spanner in there and the last couple have been flipping tight.

More slow progress it was my turn on cookhouse and dog walking tonight so I didn’t get going until late but managed to split the engine and box at last.

This next bit was easier than I expected (for once).

I've still got to put the "flywheel" to torque converter bolts in - not looking forward to lining up those holes but it shouldn't be too bad once they are lined up.

Another first today - first time I've actually had a bell housing apart on it's own - I couldn't resist giving it a gentle clout and it made a very sonorous and convincing bell noise. Simple pleasures eh?

So long as it doesn't do a Liberty Bell.
