I feel like I'm broken. I've looked at other cars for sale and I'm not feeling it so decided to carry on with the devil I know. I've bought a new outer sill panel and a friend of my tame mechanic is welding it in. He said if I am willing to do paint and prep on new panel he will cut out the rot of old sill and weld in new piece from new sill I've bought and make it look presentable for £50. I'm then going to remove rear arch liner and clear all crud out, drill a few holes and inject some wax oil or similar then seal up,primer and paint the sill. probably end up with a bitumen or similar tide mark. Cosmetics dont bother me so long as its structural and mechanically sound. The car wont ever have another owner and with my bad luck in the past I refuse to let this die.

Might be worth lifting the carpets? I've often seen holes in the inner sill that could be used for spraying waxoil in.

That conundrum is answered by one thing - structural filler.

Isopon market such a thing and it's called 'P38', AKA cold welding or red welding, Hairy Mary etc.

Except I got told off by Mr MOT for trying to do my Maxi floor with it (in about 1982).

Too late now,I've ordered a new sill. Will see what fortunes behold our gaze when the outer skin is off though but in all fairness the floor is solid

I'm very much a believer of the cheapest car to replace your current one, is the one you already own...

I've wasted too much money scrapping when broken and buying a new one. This is why I feel broken by wanting to keep this car. Its comfy, everything works even down to ac and its damn good on fuel. Parts, labour and car purchase price is at around 900. Considering the shit on sake now for 500 to 1000 it's not even worth considering when my motor has cambelt clutch etc replaced.
