Brave man, well done.
I can't believe the seller couldn't be arsed to sweep that shit out of it before shipping abroad.

You've got balls, I'll give you that. But I'm surprised I can see the appeal of it, which I just couldn't see until now. Well done.

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again
Unfortunatly paying work keeps getting in the way of doing much to it at the moment. I did however get time to remove the cylinder head. The car is 85 years old and I expect it has sat in a barn for at least half of that so I was expecting it to put up a fight. Every nut and bolt undid easily even the little solderless nipple of the advance/retard cable came undone. The head just needed a tap and a little gentle levering and it came off also. As you can see the bores look pretty good but are still stuck. I think one will go easily as the diesel ran through within an hour but I will leave the rest to soak until I get time to strip it down some more.NigelBickle wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:31 pm Wager that’s keeping you pretty busy. All the 30's stuff I've worked on came apart easier than things I've repaired from this century. That looks a brilliant car by the way.

That’s actually a properly practical thing, loving the hatch and drop tailgate. Reckon it’s had many a bale on it over the years.
I’ve had good results using shite sugar free cola in seized (albeit minis) engines over the years.
I’m looking forward to your progress, Bon chance.
Less annoying tag line.

Just when I thought I was out they dragged me back in.

How do you get parts such as a head gasket for that?

Angel the original.
Looking good mate, (to me anyway) although you may need to rod the waterways! Solid old beast - nice!

Yes, I too can now see why you like it. The seller's photos did it no favours but I can see the shape is quite pleasant now. I will be taking a keen interest in how you get on freeing the engine as I'm in the same boat with my A Series, which I'll be stripping down soon.
