Paging Mr Impala on the black bat-wing phone.....

There's a Canadian-built Brookwood 2 door wagon in that auction.

An interesting selection there but nothing worth the cost of shipping. Even the viable projects are a bit on the expensive side already. Facebook market place is now my number one place to search (sensible prices and you can find out a lot more about the sellers). Craigslist is a real pain searching and most sellers ignore you on there.

Nice project especially as there's also a four door version for parts. If only I had the money, time, talent etc to rescue it. I like the '58 safari wagon too, very rare. Back in 1977 I bought a 2 door '58 Chevy wagon project but never got anywhere with it apart from buying an NOS left front wing from a place near Paddington in about 1983-ish that had loads of GM NOS parts. It lives on in Finland, the owner told me that he sold it last year, I would have loved to get it back especially as it's on the road with a 350/350 combo, air ride, 17" chrome five spokes, grey leather interior, disc brakes etc. Was cheap too.

Cars were collected yesterday and are on the way to New York. What are the chances of the Fiat arriving without damage to the hood or rear deck. I did know the hood wasn't fitted properly but the gaffer tape bodge doesn't look like it will hold. Hopefully the truck driver will of done something a bit better to keep it all together. Apparently the Buick heater has started leaking as well. I thought it was only my cars that play up the day they are being sold.

Oh and don't worry the Nissan isn't mine I wouldn't do anything that sensible.

A cheapo ratchet strap would make all the difference to that Fiat.....Interesting rig too! Really like that Buick though.

Wow! That's a mental looking trailer/5th wheel combo.

Both cars have arrived at the warehouse in one piece. The Fiat hood didn't stay in place with the gaffa tape but is still there. The sellers photo's of the Buick flattered it somewhat as the paint is pretty shit. The warehouse guys do hi res pictures so every bit of orange peel shows up.

Well the Fiat has been loaded in a container and is scheduled to be loaded on the Palena when it arrives in New York in 2 days time. Depending on port congestion etc it is supposed to arrive in the UK around the 30th. They are coming seperate as they had one space left in this container and the Buick is going in the next one so will be about a fortnight behind. At least it gives me a bit of time to make space for it and collecting them seperatly means I can do them both myself depending on the weight of the Buick as it might be a bit too much for the truck.

Finally after nearly 6 months of hassle from the DVLA the hearse has a UK registration !!!!!. I am going to get the floor welded this week and once the number plates turn up I can actually drive it legally to find all those annoying issues I am sure it has.
