I am on Fb from time to time, yes & thanks for the offer.

But if the vendor, the Owners club, the brokers, the shippers & even the bloody Govt can’t tell me what’s needed - I’m just not going to take the risk. It’s too far/ expensive to Melbourne unless I’m certain. It can’t travel unescorted on the ferry either - I have to pay a lorry from seller to dock office. Bonkers

If he lived in Melbourne we’d probably take the punt, but this is just too bloody dangerous.

Aussie rules on importing have become ridiculously strict - & they seem to be generating some barking rules for exports, on a whim.
When my Bellel came out, there were 3 cars in the 20’ container. Decree now is -1 only per container.
Paperwork? Who knows, cos they certainly don’t! If they don’t like it, it’s very expensive storage or destruction- at my expense. It seems to have gone nuts - possibly because the nation is going stir crazy!

I really think I have a problem. I have been chatting with a bloke about this little Fiat 850 sport spider and had just sorted a deal when he asks do I want anything else.

Turns out he is a bit of an old car nut and offered a couple of cars but if I can get the shipping quote right I suspect this '53 Buick will be coming over as well.

Yeap last one had the payment clear today. It was all quite painless really. I thought I had got away with paying the £120 for the photographer but they deducted the price out of the payment for the last car to leave. Yes they are expensive as car and classic made over 1500 quid out of selling them for me but I don't think I would of got the money they made anywhere else. I am off on holiday next week but will put the DKW back through the auction when I get back as I will need the room if the Buick is coming as well.

Was the rear wing on the Fiat an optional extra?

Ben

Yeap it's the hood frame it comes with a new hood that needs fitting. Speaking to the owner this afternoon it sounds like it needs new piston rings at least but what the hell I have sent a deposit and bought both the Fiat and the Buick hopefully it is going to be ok but I expect there will be plenty to do to them.
