The efi and electronic ignition are all aftermarket recent replacements. I would stand me in less than 8k once it was landed over here. The roof is new and the paint is sun faded so not perfect. It also needs the drivers seat retrimmed as it is torn under the seat cover

Forgot to mention that if you do get one, I've still got the genuine Renault locking tools if you want to borrow them/haven't got them. Including the sprocket locking tool to stop them moving from the keyless crank pulley. Genuine tools are much better quality than others and lock the timing much closer. Changing the belts, dephaser and water pump are a sure way of making it easier to sell and worth more. So many go on about how big a job it is, but tbh I didn't think it was that bad. Just a set procedure that needs to be followed that's all.

Often cheap project 182 come up on the Facebook groups dedicated to RS Clios and worth keeping an eye out. The 182 is much more desirable than the 172 and consistently sells for more and easier. Liquid yellow and Racing Blue get the most money. Racing blue I reckon will be the one worth a lot as it's what most of the promo material and press cars were.

The price of shipping has gone up somewhat and due to size I think it rules out the Continental. There is this little rot box I am in negotiations for though. It comes in as a medium size so is a bit cheaper to ship.

Where's the engine? In the rear?

I’m trying, unsuccessfully to get an old car ( Isuzu Florian ) out of Tasmania. It has no formal title, but a stack of history & it is, now, a runner.

I did no realise Tasmania is 300 miles from the mainland! I thought it was the width of the channel. Quite an expensive crossing, too.

My problem is that no one knows if Ozzie Customs will clear it for export! I’ve had so many differing answers ( brokers, exporters, club officials etc) so. I asked the Export Dept of Victoria direct. Simplistically, they don’t know - but suggested shipping it across& reviewing it on arrival!
Nope.
I’m not going to risk having a car I now own stuck at Melbourne Docks ( with extortionate storage fees)whilst they determine. Could be Ok, might be confiscated. No clue either way

Does it still have the expired reg plates on it or even a Rego sticker in the window?

I know someone on Facebook who shipped a van from Tassie to NZ - I'm guessing he would have had to do the same things. I know he had to get his running and driving (a bit) whilst it was still there.

Bloody hell Nigel that makes my small grumble about the DVLA look irrelevant. It does sound like the Australian customs are nearly as bad as the DVLA at least HMRC over here aren't too worried about paperwork as long as you pay them money.

Ok are you or any of your family members on Facebook and I'll put you in contact with Conrad and he can probably advise.
Registration in Aus isn't really the same as the title in the US, when we bought and registered cars that were unregistered over there we just had a hand written receipt from the seller which was fine for whichever the authority was in that state.

In all honesty as it isn't s piece of Aussie motoring heritage (IE it isn't a V8 muscle car) they likely won't give a stuff what paperwork you have for it.
