I seem to of done something stupid yet again

I've ridden down there on my moped.

The reason appears to be that the chauffeur or the hotel's doorman was able to open the door without walking around the car. This would allow the lady to alight from the carriage and walk straight into the hotel.

I did look it up and motor sport is Bugatti's reason. Most circuits were clockwise and having the driver on the right balanced the car better. I expect Hotchkiss would of copied to make them look more upmarket like Bugatti. I managed a few mins on it today and the fuel tank had been drained many years ago so no stale fuel in there. The lines are clear so I have chucked a couple of gallons in the tank. Next time I have a chance to play with it I will hook the tank back up and see how much shit it can drag through.

To get historic status on your registration here, the car must be as close to standard as it was when it first left the factory.

It was an ex German fire van with about 16k miles from new on it so it was factory fresh really but was still an absolute bugger to get registered and he was told it couldn't be registered normally for some reason.

I seem to have no time at all since the Hotchkiss arrived to play with it but had a bit of a look yesterday. The exhaust was shot but it is pretty straightforward and I have most bits on the way to build one. The wiring loom is total shite everything is either red green or blue and very badly done. I have bought a reel of 7 core cable and will rewire it next weekend with a few junction boxes and a proper fuse box. The brakes all seem to work except the handbrake which has a broken cable. Hopefully I have fixed the speedo as some idiot had taken it apart and reassembled it with the needle trapped. I am hoping most of it will come back to life and I can find some new light units to tidy it up. I will get a bit more done this weekend then hopefully send a few bits off for cleaning and powder coating.

I spent a little bit of time on the Hotchkiss again today. I have removed the light housings, steering wheel and grille today ready to take for blasting and ceramic plating. I have put a chunk of new wiring loom in and a new fuse box. I have all new switches and a load of relays ready to go in to finish it off. I have given the dash board panel to my mate who is a bit of an expert with wood so he can either polish it or put a nice veneer on it. Finally I have ordered new front and rear side lights. This Marchal stuff is fucking expensive with a pair of rear lamps at 220 euro and a pair of front sidelights even worse at 300 euro both plus post. I just hope after all this the gearbox is ok as it feels a bit shit and I can only find 3 gears so far.

My tame welder has been round this morning and he is bottling out of finishing the welding on the Rover. He has done the good side and the passenger side is now all solid but he doesn't fancy fitting the 3 part sill as he doesnt have a spot welder to do a really good job of it. So now it is on ebay to try and get some cash back.
