The almost brand new Kona next to it has a starting list price of £35k. I didn't choose that space for any particular reason except it was the nearest free space to the entrance as I was getting late.
I parked next to this the other week. It was left there for a half a week.
I'd imagine most are private cars where their owners are off to London for the week to earn the big bucks.

Re: 2007 Focus Mk2 - Boot opens everytime the car starts ?!
A bit like the '22 bmw that gets left for four weeks at a time, disappears for a day then is left for four weeks. I only know beacause it was badly parked with one wheel on the kerb and I walk past it with the dog everyday. They moved it from badly parked to in front of the pub where it's been for another four weeks.
They're paying mighty money for fuck all imo.

The other one is a new burgundy range rover sport that never moves. It's nuts really.

But sometimes there's a reason behind it.
One of our good friends in the village is effectively retained by a specialist London accountancy firm. Some of their key clients will only deal with her so there's a company F Pace and a Discovery Sport, for her hubby, parked on the drive along with an Up!, owned by them, that is used for most of the time whilst the others sit idle. If she goes to London she goes by train.

I'd have to be insane to spend £70k on that Volvo.

Very true.
But sanity goes out of the window with company car politics if it is one. Add in the golf club factor and Volvos being considered to be very safe by her who must be obeyed you can see why so many are sold.

£545pcm on lease
https://www.marshall.co.uk/volvo/new-ca ... /new-xc60/
Not that expensive really, especially for a main car.
I don't think many people have company cars nowadays. BIK is far too high unless full electric car and doesn't make sense compared to taking a car allowance - basically extra pay.

£545pcm isn't expensive? that's more than my mortgage! admittedly I paid about the same for my house as fools pay for those cars.

A typical day rate for many contracting. Those commuting into London possibly a fair bit more than that.

One could argue though that those fools get an infinitely better view out the window.
