While I love a good walk, unless that 5-6 miles has been run then my heart rate gets nowhere near enough to be in the cardio zone. Even though I need to loose weight atm, my main concern is fitness and stamina especially in cardio. You only get that by working out hard - ~80% peak heart rate.

I don't particularly like the gym but it's the quickest and easiest way to get that.

Also I find being surrounded by physically fit people is motivating. I.e. if I training as hard as them I'll look like them.

Many of the sights aren't bad to look at either.

Smokers are filthy fuckers that ruin perfectly good cars.

My first question before even viewing a car is if it smells of cigarettes. If so, instance deal breaker. I've walked away from otherwise good cars because they stank. It's a smell that simply can't be properly got rid of.

A rancid smell, especially in the summer.

Excercise and being a gym bunny alone is a very slow way to lose weight. I tried that. The quickest way is excercise with ketogenic diet, cutting out all carbs and running on protein. That's what I did in 2020 and I dropped 2 stone in no time - from 88 to 72 kg.

Swimming doesn't fuck your knees and it's fantastic for upper body workouts.

Cut out: potatoes and carrots, bread, pasta, fruit, sweets, chocolate. Any vegetable that grows in the ground.

Eat plenty of eggs, fish, meat, vegetables that grow above ground (no sugar) plus cheese and replace milk with cream in coffee. Drink lots of water. Protein after a workout/run is very good for your muscles and joints.

It's simple to follow but not easy at first as you crave carbs. But you get over it. Wheat is the kind of shit that you should cut out anyway. Processed shite. A few spuds are alright once you're at an ideal weight but I live on green veg, fish, white meat etc. And chocolate plus the occasional filthy kebab. I'm still 72 kg and can walk 6 miles in 90 minutes without stopping once.

And more. All that I can eat as much (or as little) as I want for free. Problem is, I am too addicted to sugar and poor self control to not do this.

Then eat it all in the morning and do the same thing in the afternoon.

I could get away with it when I was doing 10 mile round-trip sprint on the bike everyday commuting. Having moved and then hit by lockdown, that all stopped.

Plan is simply to get my fitness back up so I can start cycling in again on some days. I've already made good progress and starting to regain muscle mass. Weight loss is of minor concern to stamina.

I mean I should stop eating all that shit but it tastes too good.

I eat too much chocolate, around 3 Mars Bars a day. How I get away with it now is eating very healthily at mealtimes. Two eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and meat/fish with vegetables in the evening. If I do a curry I have spinach rather than rice - another carb bomb you should avoid. That’s after I did Keto for about 4-5 months. If I cut out chocolate I could get down to 69-70 kg easily but, fuck it.

I don’t drink beer either, just spirits. Gin and Slim, whisky, rum and cognac.

Avoid fruit juice as well. It’s fucking terrible stuff and as bad as coke. Full of sugar, nasty.
