Stroppy Old Tart, or the story of a Triumph Bonneville

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

I tried to make some progress on this today.

I got the new studs fitted to the rocker boxes with a drop of threadlock. Then I found the new mushroom headed tappet adjusters don't don't fit the rocker arms, they are the wrong thread. The locking nuts off the old ones fit on the new ones but wobble a lot, but nothing fits the other way around.

Rather annoying as until the tappet adjusters are in I can't fit the rocker boxes & until they are on I can't fit the carbs & control cables. I've not sorted the leccy box yet & got nowhere with the seat either. Struggling with motivation at the moment as I'm barely staying awake for more than a few hours currently, god knows why but permanently so damn tired. So that's that for the day again.

A quick bit of research shows the threads changed from 26 to 24 tpi (or cei to unf, depending who you ask) in 1976. Handy as no one asked which type when ordering the tappet adjusters.

If I was you I'd look on the NHS website about your tiredness and consider seeing a doctor, or in your case a vet.
