That confused me there as I thought you was talking about a SEAT van you own has gone to be repaired.

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
I wistfully look at the cars I'd rather own than an awful colour MGB, but few 50 year old motors are so well catered for.
I've done little more than routine servicing since buying it 13 years ago but after patching the floor I've noticed more jobs to do. There's a bolt on cover to gain access to the front inner wings, easily removed so I can get some cavity wax in there- Looking forward the headlamp buckets are starting to rust and the underseal isn't great, my fix is to wax it all and fit a £50 pair of plastic wing liners. I've had some before, but they fitted better on my P4 (now sold) even though they were designed for the MG. Lower wishbone bushes are shagged, and due to my road being frequently covered in cow shit both spring pans are holed, despite being of quite thick matal. New antiroll bar links, polybushes, spring pans, price under a oner. I've pulled the dampers off to clean them out and change their fluid, free other than a bit of SAE20 with a squirt of 'seal swel'.

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
I've got to do the headlamp bowls on the Cowley. They have been repaired* by his previous Giffer with newspaper and clear resin. I'm going to go forensic when I get them off and see if I can spot when he did it. Likely he'll have had the papers about 12 years, though, just to be sure he had finished with them.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Worst is when they're held in by a 2" long very rusty self tapper. I've looked under the wings of quite a few crusty motors only to see the back of the reflector.mercrocker wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 9:51 pm I've got to do the headlamp bowls on the Cowley. Sealed beam headlamps didn't need the bowl: solder the wires to terminals and fibreglass into position. Chrome rings optional.

You'd need to be pretty sure about the positioning before glassing wouldn't you though?
