Right,it's replacement. Cheapest car I could find with a maximum of 60 mile round trip and a few months ticket. It's had clutch done,brakes all round,front springs,shocks and mounts,new rear brakes and handbrake cable in previous owners ownership. He had it over 3 years and put nearly 50k on it in that time for work. Only selling as work have now provided him with a newish insignia.

That's the main problem,petrol 2.0. Don't expect it to be fantastic but what I'll spend on fuel I'll hopefully save on things going tits up. It was either this, a transit connect tdci with 220k and 200 quid more expensive or a multitude of ropey vehicles in various states of disrepair.

The petrol 2.0 Mk Mondeo has a reputation for being VERY thirsty.

Zetec or Duratec?

Duratec HE. The focus is zetec black top and
manages 30 to 32 mixed driving and that's an auto. I have done takeaway delivery with cars that barely managed 25 mpg but I'd have thought comparing it to focus I'd expect 28 to 30 or thereabouts.
