Sorry but Quentin is correct that these cars look awful in bright colours. They are refined luxury not not poncey, show-off, look at me wanker mobiles.

There was a fella my ex used to work with who was the first I remember to have a red Mulsanne. He was a bit of a twat. His line was shipping out most of the UK stock of Leyland Marathons, old ERFs and Fodens to Africa back in the Eighties. Unfortunately some of the owners hadn't quite finished with them so to speak... I like to think the custodial he got was more for the Bentley than anything else.

One of the rare times I can say that I agree with Hooli here.

The Turbo R is an eighties icon up there with the 911 Turbo. Bright red is fine unless you are a shrinking violet.

FTFY.

Burgundy is a much more suitable shade of red for this car imo.

Well today I taxed it and filled the tank with V power fuel (fuck that stuff is dear). I fitted the new turbo solenoid yesterday (fucking genuine part my arse flying spares) so it was ready for a proper test. The old girl certainly does get a move on now. It is just one big wave of power once it starts boosting and the pick up from 70 to 100+ is pretty impressive. It was a little flat for the first couple of miles but just keeps getting better and better. I suspect the waste gate hasn't done this much work in years. The default postion is for it to be open so I expect it had a bit of crap build up on it over the years that is clearing out nicely now. Maybe next week I will do the brake pads and change the fluid but I have a shadow coming in on monday for a few jobs so it might have to wait.

Nope no cats on this one and no airbag either so less to go wrong. I do think it is probably about the best year to go for.
