- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

It is hard to read. Sounds like some shiny suited twat trying to write beyond his capabilities.

I suspect our old friend predictive text is making him appear less intelligent than he may well be. I always give people the benefit of the doubt where phones are concerned until I meet them and they provide their own evidence of stupidity.

I had a ride to the Hallamshire this morning. Newish Passat, usual jiggly VAG ride and the standard 'suspension about to fall off' knocking and rattling.
For the return trip, a newish Avensis with 125k. Seriously comfy, not a squeak or rattle.
What is the fascination with VW group stuff?

I'm sorry but I'm well out of touch with personal tax, especially relating to leased vehicles, and don't understand what he's on about.
However, making an assumption that you're not a Higher Rate taxpayer tax can,at times, be considered as less important than cashflow. The reason I mention this is because you've said about buying a property and a lump of cash will no doubt come in more than useful. As usual it's not that simple as it depends on how much deposit you have to put down, versus the income multiplier the mortgageor uses and how they take into account any debt you have.
I'm more than happy to help if I can but the best advice I can give is to speak to a mortgage broker if you still are planning on purchasing a property as they'll have experience of these sort of issues. I'd also talk to whoever does your accounts.
Let me know if some (all?) of this doesn't make sense and I'll try to do better.

Re: Claim's Cabbies Corner. FATAL AND ACCOUNTANT ADVICE PLEASE!
I've got my brain in gear now, I'm a bit fucked up after being stung by a wasp and having an allergic reaction.
I didn't realise settle to buy was the name of their scheme.
The last payment is the last monthly one I assume.
I assume that the car will become yours if you exercise your option to buy it, in which case I think that the cost should be allowable for tax over several years unless taxis are dealt with differently. A quick look implies that you can charge 18% of the cost of it against your profit each year. That's simplified a bit but hopefully gives a decent idea of the magnitude.

Just had a thought about the car.
I imagine any mortgage offer would be based on your last set of accounts so that possibly makes some of my comments superfluous.
