Have you been to see Puddlethumper's American circus? He gave me a behind the scenes tour when he visited Newcastle. Lovely bloke.

8-) Hi I have seen the show but it was before Puddlethumper joined. .
I was a bit jealous when he got that job. It's not a bad life if you don't mind moving every week oh and the mud at times
I wish he would post more.
Preferably on ere.
Vegas are returning to Newcastle.

Back in the early 90s a friend got offered a complete wooden wall of death for I think about £10 or £15k but stopped to think about it too long at which point he realised that just the Indians were worth more than that. It belonged to the family that used to have a tame lion ride in a sidecar round the wall. No idea if it got sold on it they ended up keeping it. I have a feeling the same people also had a load of older rides stashed away in a quarry in Derbyshire as he took me for a nosey round them one day.

That was interesting, something I'd never heard of before.

Am surprised it was worth all the effort, suppose you could say it wasn't in the long run!

Depends if you need to move yourself and a large amount of gold to Bolivia or Argentina...

Some heavy weights
Firstly as some of you may be aware one of my major interests are Travelling Fairground and Circus stuff. Under this comes The Wall of Death.
In my mind one of the finest forms of entertainment there is.
It's also quite entertaining to watch the reaction of the hipster crowd as there jaws drop as a bike passes side on . Thankfully the Dibnah wannabes are outside measuring wheel nuts and eating coal.

The cost of this visual feast £3 each. Can't get a burger for that

I was given a chance to have a go at that but bottled it. One of my biggest regrets in life.

We did a Pioneer a while back. When we got it:

When we'd finished with it.

If you give a toss about that sort of thing there is a record of what we did to it here: https://hmvf.co.uk/topic/8226-another-pioneer/

Nice thing to look at but a complete twat to drive on the road.

Lorries wot I done want still.

Explorer. Despite hating the Pioneer I still want an Explorer. We looked at a couple before finding the Pioneer and while the Gardner LW is a beautiful piece of engineering it sounds crap compared with the Meadows petrol engine. There are two of them rotting away in a yard not far from here which seems a shame.

Image

Militant Mk3. Really, who wouldn't want one of these brutes?

Image

Leyland Martian. I'm told they are underpowered and have various issues with the drive train, however, meh. We're hardly going to be rescuing tanks under fire with it. I reckon they look the part and how handy would that crane be?

Image

Bedford RL Recovery. Bit pointless this one because there is already a Goddess here and this is hardly any different but I love RLs and I love the way the recoveries look.

Image

Diamond T 969. I don't usually go for anything not British but I would make an exception in the case of the Diamond T. Needs to have a petrol engine in it.

Image

Scammell Super Constructor. What I really want is an Antar but I'd probably settle for one of these. Perhaps with a self changing box it would be a nicer Scammell to drive than the Pioneer.
